Sítio Três Barras has belonged to Manassés’ family for at least 70 years after his grandfather José acquired a small plot of land which he used to cultivate potatoes and peppers. The family had tried cultivating coffee in the 1950s but didn't achieve substantial years, so it wasn't until 2021 that Manassés’ father decided to try again and the farm has been producing coffee ever since.
