From North Star Coffee Roasters
This coffee marks a proud moment for us at North Star. It’s the first harvest from the Ijabo Producer Group—20 young Rwandan farmers supported through our second Impact Project with Tropic Coffee and Baltzersens. Using funds raised through Baltzersens’ single-use cup charge, we helped prepare 8 hectares of land at Muremure farm, planting 20,000 coffee trees and distributing them to 20 young people to start careers in coffee. In a region where many leave for mining or city work, this project offers the chance to build a stable income close to home. The producers have already supported their families with essentials like livestock and healthcare. Ijabo means dignity, a name that captures the spirit of this project. Thank you for being part of it.
