Las Hortensias, run by third-generation coffee producers the Albir sisters, is nestled in the Dipilto Region at altitudes of 1,250 to 1,400 meters above sea level. This farm, inherited from their father in 2014, harmonizes the soil, water, flora, and fauna to produce exceptional coffee while prioritizing sustainability. Their dedication has earned them top spots in the Cup of Excellence for three years. This Maragogype Maracaturra varietal is processed using the anaerobic natural method, resulting in a coffee with a rich and complex flavor profile. Coborn affectionately call it "Real Housewives of Clapton," inspired by one of their favorite Instagram accounts celebrating the orange wine craze.

From Coborn Coffee
In the northern reaches of the country is the region of Nueva Segovia, bordering Honduras with high mountains ideal for coffee production. It is here, in the community of Buenos Aires in the Dipilto municipality where Finca Las Hortensias is situated. Ana María Albir inherited the farm from her father, who had been growing coffee for nearly 50 years. Currently, there is a manager and agronomist who assist with the farm maintenance. The farm is named after a beautiful flower that thrives in these mountains of Nicaragua.
