Jhoan is a standout coffee from the Huila region of Colombia, grown at 1750m on the Acevedo farm. The Java varietal goes through a unique process: ripe cherries are hand-picked and oxidated for 36 hours in open bags. After floating, they are pulped and fermented anaerobically for 60 hours. The cherries are then washed in 40º water, cooled to stop fermentation, and dried for 12-15 days, with regular movement to ensure even drying. This careful process brings out a clean, complex flavor, making Las Flores a beautifully balanced cup with depth and character.

Hundred House Coffee
What's in a name? Well, quite a lot actually with this roastery. So named as a nod to the community meeting places of yore, Hundred House Coffee invokes the old meaning by becoming 'a symbol of a collective space, where conversation, art and industry meet'. Integral to their business is their Art + Industry Programme into which a portion of their profits are directed. The programme supports art and design initiatives, runs educational programs and commissions community projects, bringing people together over ideas and of course, a great cup of coffee.
The High Brewed Bar: all our roasters meet these ethical benchmarks across origin, sourcing, packaging and employment.
Beyond The Bar: Roastery Powered by 100% Renewable Electricity, Supporting the Creative Arts in Industry & Schools, Members of Speciality Coffee Association

From Hundred House Coffee
Once the world’s largest producer of washed coffees, Colombia has had to re-energise the coffee sector after a 2009 case of Leaf Rust decimate much of the production. Thanks to large investment, disease resistant varietals of coffee trees have been planted, and volume has increased from a low of around 7.5million bags to over 12 million in 5 years. Colombia used to produce only washed Arabica coffee, from three main geographical areas trisected by the Andes mountain range. Regional coffees have become increasingly popular and are demonstrable of the distinct flavour profiles available throughout the nation. Coffees are typically mild bodied (hence the categorising term ‘Colombia Milds’), with crisp acidity and citric sweetness.
