Cafe El Zapoteco is the perfect example of one of these successful relationships. Romulo Chavez heads up this association of 180 coffee producing families from three towns in the Sierra Juarez mountain range. For the producers of El Zapoteco, community is key. No migrant labour is utilised for the harvest season, instead producers rely on the help of their neighbours to gather in the cherries.
