Rene Melgar   Honduras
This vibrant Honduran coffee comes from Rene Melgar, a third-generation grower whose roots in farming run deep through the hills of La Paz. Grown at 1680m, the cup reveals a juicy, fruit-forward profile that's equal parts bright and delicate. Expect a smooth, floral sweetness layered with soft stone fruit and tropical vibrancy - a nod to both the altitude and attentive farming behind it. Rene's approach blends family tradition with a clear eye on quality, producing coffee that speaks to the land it comes from. It's a lively yet balanced brew, perfect for those who enjoy nuance in every sip.

Rene Melgar, a passionate coffee producer from Cabañas, La Paz, Central Honduras, comes from a long lineage of farmers. As a third-generation coffee grower, Rene’s deep connection to the land and the art of coffee production runs through his family’s history. His grandfather was one of the largest coffee producers in the region, and it was from him that Rene’s father first learned the craft of coffee cultivation. In 1992, Rene’s father planted his first one-hectare farm, and over the years, he expanded his holdings, planting more coffee trees with great care and dedication. Rene fondly recalls, “He taught me and my brother everything about coffee, and from a very young age, he instilled in us the importance of hard work and the value of what we had.” This strong foundation shaped Rene’s approach to coffee farming, one that blends tradition with a commitment to quality.
